Abadir. Accademia di Design e Comunicazione Visiva

“Design is a discipline capable of triggering change and, being aware of the designer’s social responsibility, we propose activities able to generate real practices related to important issues of our territory, from material goods to immaterial needs.”

Abadir. Accademia di Design e Comunicazione Visiva

Design School
Catania
Established in 2010

In 2010 Lucia left Barcelona and moved back to Catania to shape a new educational project: a design academy in Sicily. Together with Vanni Pasca, as scientific coordinator, and a great staff of architects and designers, who support the project teaching day by day and mentoring their students, they started the school launching a Master Degree and a Bachelor in Design and Visual Communication. In 2013 Abadir started a collaboration with Idlab Milano, exploring the new frontiers of online education; this partnership, still ongoing and fruitful, has generated a lot of activities like Whoami the design game, Design 101 and the Master Relational Design. Nowadays the school is facing a new phase with a new partner from Torino, Federico De Giuli, who joined us last year bringing new perspectives and opening new possibilities.
